Thursday, May 21, 2026 — Hamilton Poetry Centre Workshop, (3rd Thursdays of each month) in the program room of the Westdale Library in Hamilton. From Donna: Our workshops now begin at 4:45 p.m. and finish at 6:45 p.m. to allow us as much time as possible.  As before, poems will be read in the order they’re received, so you may want to arrive a little earlier. We welcome those who have not attended the HPC before. You may bring a poem or not. If you do bring a poem (no longer than one page), please bring copies to share with the group (15-20 suggested). The workshop leader will direct a friendly discussion of each poem and ask that the writer refrain from comments until the end of the discussion.

Friday, May 15, 2026 — Write On Write Now open mic. Poets, writers, musicians, stand-up comics. Takes place the third Friday of the month (usually). The Centre for Talking Arts, 8:00 – 10:00 pm, 154 James St. South, Hamilton.

An open mic like no other! Bring your darlings: your poetry, prose, songs, essays, stories — whatever form your creativity takes. Join host Jen Frankel in welcoming singer/songwriters, poets, essayists, storytellers, and other wordsmiths for an unforgettable evening of entertainment and communion. 5 min per performer or two songs, double slots if time permits. Signup begins at 7:30!
