Art Walk 2024 PDF for Online Viewing
Art Walk is an annual collaboration between Tower poets and local Carnegie Gallery artists as one of the many Arts Dundas festivities in early November. The Carnegie Gallery initiated this project in the early 1990s as a means of extending art and poetry into community life.
Each year Tower poets (TPS members only) are invited to create poetry in response to the work of Carnegie Gallery member artists in August.
A Guided Tour of Art Walk pairings, followed by a Tower members’ Poetry Reading on the Carnegie Lower Level, are scheduled for for the first Sunday in November each year (the final day of Arts Dundas celebrations).
From Art Walk 2024, we feature two poems: one by a first-time Art Walk contributor and another by a long-time participant in the event…
For the new event participant, we have chosen Susan Popowich’s Survival Time in response to artist Cathy Yantis’ (mixed media) Seeds of Intention #19.
SURVIVAL TIME, Susan Popowich
We feel that Jennifer Tan’s exquisite EL CORAZON in response to first-time artist contributor Peter Kirkland’s delicate (oil on wood) Painting 6/24 #1 deserves to be featured by a long-time participant.
EL CORAZÓN, Jennifer Tan
