February 12, 2011, Westdale Public Library, Hamilton, Ontario TPS President Valerie Nielsen introduces guest speaker Ann Elizabeth Carson, poet, sculptor and retired psychotherapist, for the annual TPS Poet Study. A group of poets gathered to hear Ms. Carson discuss The Power of Story, the Spirit of Questioning and the Process of Remembering. Ms. Carson interspersed her comments with readings from her published work, including the title poem from The Risks of Remembrance. |

Above: TPS President Norman Brown introduces guest poet Jeffery Donaldson at the annual TPS Poet Study February 13, 2010: A large group of poets gathered at Hamilton's Westdale Public Library to hear poet Jeffery Donaldson discuss poetics in general, and his own poetry in particular. Donaldson illustrated his inspiring talk with samples of his own work, including the title poem from his most recent collection, Palilalia. The term refers to a vocal tic characterized by the involuntary repetition of syllables, words or phrases. Donaldson's poem, Palilalia is featured on the TPS website as the June 2010 Poetry Pick.
