Quiet Lake

by Joanna Lawson
Ontario, Canada

Fill your heart
with the sparkling white tips
of quietly lapping waves,
the serene blossom air
inhaled with cottage sounds,
and the caress of summer-sun rays.
Gone – for a moment –
city noises, social conflicts,
dilemmas unsolved.
For a moment, prayer,
from soul’s depths
renews the spirit.

From Inner Voices
