Wedding Day

virginal as a bride
white as paper
rings and bouquets
gowns and confetti

narcissus crowns her head
after the veil of winter
is pulled back to reveal
the gold eyes in the centre

pink as romance
bleeding as hearts
chandeliers and mirrors
champagne and bubbles

pendulous blooms on a string
where a curtain of rain hangs
and love fills a lake to fall in
for wedding days will die
