GHOST SHIP

by Stella Mazur Preda
Ontario, Canada

Storm violates the rockbound coast
ravages piers and moorings

Electical charges
like flashes of artillary fire
ignite nocturnal skies
illuminate shadows rising from the depths
like Atlantis reborn

Seemingly anchored in off-shore waters
a galleon rides undulating waves
until Cimmerian darkness swallows the spectre
relinquishes it again to secret lore
entombed in the waters of Lethe
