PASSING

by Marianne Vespry
Ontario, Canada

Train sways, clatters
its turbulent way
through spacetime.
Landscapes awaiting artists
flow by windows,
my transient self,
ungraspable.

Dialogue of light and cloud
tiling the sky,
cattle seeking sustenance,
shine of water, skiff of snow,
configure thus once only
before my temporary eyes,
riding the sliding cusp
of here and now.
