STOLEN MOMENTS

by LINI RICHARDA GROL

What was there between us, my love
Scant evenings together enjoyed
Words heavy with meaning
But meaningless to the crowd,
Words only meant for me or you.

What was there between us, my love
A playful kiss landing on my ear,
Amidst the others, watching laughingly
It was a mere nothing to all of them
And yet, so great a gift from you to me.

What was there between us, my love
Those songs we all sang together,
Our meetings in the sun drenched street
With a thousand windows looking down on us
It was little, yet so much for you and me.
