WE TWO ARE ONE

by Deborah Morrison
Ontario, Canada

Icy pearls on branches glisten
in praise of Your great light;
drifts like opals piled high
adorn Your brilliant essence;
ivory flakes, round and full,
fall into wondrous iridescence.
Gazing on soft-fallen splendor,
I merge into winter’s beauty,
become one with You —
in stillness, the silence
pillows my weary soul.

We two are One: steadfast,
unchangeable, awake forever in
Your sweet sublime artistry.
I look up into the night’s dark
heavens as the bright star,
not alone in miraculous grace,
shines forth; from the very
depths of my heart radiate
reflections of Your omnipotence.

Still … still to feel Your
tender breath brush
gentle on my cheek,
and so to know the warmth
of You within this snowy
wintry night …
