Thanksgiving Dinnerby Jeff Seffinga |
We gather at tables in kitchen and dining room give thanks for another season of plenty rejoice with the living, comfort the grieving and share in the generous meal set before us We remark on the crimson glow of tomatoes roots tasting of earth, leaves greened by the sun Wine with its sparkle, rich sauces that pour hold us together in peaceful contentment By twos or by handfuls we step into night The tables are bare, the kitchen rests silent |
