Allison in Red Tights, by Katherine MacDonald

POEM IN BLUE

by Soraya Erian

Why do I breathe?
To see my children
Where do I live?
In the heart of fire
Where do I come from?
The belly of earth
I feel most comfortable
in the ocean of knowledge
Whom do I like?
The unredeemed
When I disappear from this world
will I be talking to frogs?
Would you hand me a wand?
Why?
To recreate the sky?
Who lives in the sky?
The Goddess Nut
Are you serious?
I’m only expanding
Upon?
The possibilities
Of?
Existence within
Within what?
Non-existence
What do I mean?
Here is not here
Why?
Because there is more real
What is reality?
Immersed in dream
Of?
Eternity
Why?
Because it is unchanging
For whom?
Crack-pots and poets
